Losartan Potassium Tablets

【Function Indication】

It is suitable for the treatment of essential hypertension. This product is intended for use in adults with chronic heart failure who have not been treated with ACE inhibitors, especially in the presence of cough or contraindications. The left ventricular ejection fraction in the applicable patient should be less than 40%. Is clinically stable and is on an established treatment regimen for chronic heart failure. Losartan is not recommended for patients with heart failure whose ACE inhibitors respond consistently. The HEAAL study supporting the efficacy of this product mainly included patients with chronic heart failure in NYHA cardiac function scale Ⅱ (69-70%) to PA (30%).

【Usage and dosage】

This product can be used in conjunction with other antihypertensive drugs. This product may be taken with or without food. For most patients with hypertension, the usual starting and maintenance dose is 50mg once daily. Treatment for 3 to 6 weeks results in maximum blood pressure reduction. In some patients, increasing the dose to 100mg once a day (taken in the morning) produces further hypotensive effects. Losartan may be used in combination with other antihypertensive agents, especially diuretics (e.g., hydrochlorothiazide)(see contraindications, cautions, and drug interactions). A starting dose of 25mg once daily may be considered in patients with insufficient vascular volume (for example, in patients receiving high-dose diuretics) (see [Notes]). There is no need to adjust the starting dose in elderly patients or in patients with renal impairment, including those on dialysis. Lower doses should be considered in patients with a history of liver impairment (see [Precautions]). Heart failure: The starting dose of this product is 12.5mg once daily for patients with heart failure. Dosages are usually incrementally increased at weekly intervals according to tolerance of each patient until the maximum dose that the patient can tolerate is reached (12.5mg/ d, 25mg/ d, 50mg/ d, and 100mg/ d).
