Acute onset of bacterial infection with chronic bronchitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhiae, or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Community acquired pneumonia caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Acute otitis media caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhiae, or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

This is an acute bacterial sinusitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhiae, or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

This is pharyngitis/tonsillitis caused by streptococcus pyogenes.

Simple skin and skin structure infections caused by staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus pyogenes, or streptococcus agalactiae.

Urethritis and cervicitis caused by chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Male genital canker disease (chancroid) caused by Haemophilus ducraiensis has not been determined as a treatment of female chancroid with azithromycin due to the small number of women enrolled in clinical trials.

Restrictions on use:

Azithromycin should not be used in patients with pneumonia who are deemed unsuitable for oral treatment due to moderate to severe disease or risk factors, such as:

Patients with cystic fibrosis,

Patients with hospital-acquired infections,

Patients with confirmed or suspected bacteremia,

Patients who need to be hospitalized,
Patients who are elderly or infirm, or who have a major underlying disease that impairs the body's ability to respond to the disease (including immunodeficiency or a functional spleen).

【Usage and dosage】

Adults with

Azithromycin tablets should be taken orally once daily, as a whole tablet, with or without food. Azithromycin tablets are used in the treatment of various infectious diseases. The courses and methods of use are as follows:

For sexually transmitted diseases caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, Haemophilus dukei or Neisseria gonorrhoeae, only 1000mg of this product should be taken orally once.

Treatment for other infections: Total dose 1500mg, 500mg of this product once daily for 3 days. Or the total dose is the same, 500mg on the first day, and 250mg orally once a day from the second to the fifth days.

Patients with renal insufficiency

Patients with mild and moderate renal insufficiency (glomerular filtration rate 10-80mL/min) do not need to adjust the dose. Use with caution in patients with severe renal insufficiency (glomerular filtration rate <10mL/min) (see [Precautions] and [Pharmacokinetics]).

Patients with liver dysfunction

For patients with mild to moderate liver insufficiency, the use and dosage of this product are the same as those with normal liver function (see [cautions] and [pharmacokinetics]).

To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and to maintain the effectiveness of azithromycin and other antimicrobial agents, azithromycin should only be used to treat infections that are confirmed or highly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria. The culture and susceptibility information obtained should be taken into account when selecting or adjusting antimicrobial therapy. If you don't have that data. The status of local epidemiology and sensitivity may be helpful for experiential selective therapy.
